When reviewing the FBI's National Incident-Based Reporting System, we can see that there are about 480 incidences of serious violence at places of worship each year resulting in 48 deaths and 218 serious injuries annually. This is a serious problem. That is why having a safety plan and team in place can help to prevent or reduce the risk of an attack. By training staff and volunteers on how to respond to an active shooter situation, and by implementing security measures Houses of Worship can provide a safe environment for their congregation.
